Kids Food Basket (KBC), a grassroots, community solution to childhood hunger in West Michigan, had been selected as our last Convention 2020 Service-on-Site project. KBC began over a decade ago by serving daily meals to 125 kids. Today, KFB provides 8800 students at 52 locations across three Michigan counties Sack Suppers packed by over 250 daily volunteers. Although the "on site" part of the project was cancelled along with Convention 2020, we are now offering this service opportunity to all Quota clubs worldwide - our final QI "Unite in Service" initiative!
Here’s the twist in this year’s project that now you can do at home! We are inviting members to decorate and mail one or more brown bag sacks that Kids Food Basket will fill with one child's evening meal AND/OR financially donate to the Kids Food Basket in Quota's name. Decorated bags make meals feel more like a gift rather than a handout, and instructions on where to mail them is below. For financial donations, Quota has created a Quota GoFundMe page which can securely direct your donation to Kids Food Basket in care of QI of Grand Rapids, Michigan, U.S.A.
Your contribution will be truly personal and from the heart - whether you decorate Supper Sacks for future student meals or financially support the supplies that Kids Food Basket needs to fill decorated bags!
