From Touchpoint to President

Ruston, LA, August 2018 – A few years ago, Quota International of Ruston sponsored my seven year old daughter, Audrey Claire, in the local Peach Pageant. Each year they choose one little girl to sponsor from within our community. That particular year we were somehow the lucky ones. They invited Audrey Claire and I to the next Quota meeting to present her with a gift and introduce her as the peach pageant contestant. It dawned on me that day that Quota was exactly what I’d been looking for.

It was a gathering of loving, supportive professional women-women with a purpose, with a passion for serving people within our community and globally. I want to be a part of that.”

At the time I was a single mother of two and a full time working banker with tons of extra time to devote to new things- wait, that’s not right. I was knee deep in laundry, dishes, and kindergarten sight words. I rushed in and out of work, daycare, dance class, and to the grocery store. Can we all take a moment to say hallelujah for grocery pickup and Amazon!

I knew I didn’t have a lot of free time, but it dawned on me. If I want my children to grow up and help others, I’d have to be their example. No excuses. My circumstances will not keep me from the passion that burns so deep inside of me-serving others. And the beauty of Quota is that you can do as little or as much as you can during the current season of your life.

Quota International of Ruston made it easy for me to sprinkle service work into my life.  It enables me to work alongside a multigenerational group of women who have a heart for the same mission as I.

Since joining Quota in 2016 I’ve had the opportunity to hold leadership positions on our board including Ways and Means Director and most recently, President.  I have developed friendships that will last a lifetime with the women within my organization, some from all over the world.

I was once a touchpoint of Quota International of Ruston and through their sharing hearts I have become a part of this great organization. Thank you Quota!

In her free time she loves to read, travel, hike, kayak, spend time with her boyfriend, Kevin, and  spend quality time with three fur babies; the best dog ever, a lab named Bubba and two cats A.C.
